DIPLOMA IN PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
 
Why DipPDM?
Today's development projects are more complex and require the participation of a diverse group of stakeholders. Project managers need to coordinate between the needs of the many stakeholders, coordinate and integrate the work of different specialists from different fields, and need to use different approaches to solve the complex problems. Development projects need to be carefully developed taking in consideration the input from different stakeholders, project budgets need to be managed, schedules monitored, and outcomes evaluated. This complex project environment requires appropriate project development and management skills.

Overview
DipPDM provides a simple way to learn the basic elements of modern project management concepts that are required by national and international development organizations dedicated to development of local communities and humanitarian relief. Various modules present ideas and concepts with the aid of charts and graphics to help increase learners’ understanding.

Benefits of DipPDM
The participants will be able to:
  • Apply project development and management competencies to multiple, complex, high value projects
  • Identify the strategic fit between projects and strategic business plans
  • Implement appropriate processes to facilitate the achievement of planned benefits through the successful planning and execution of projects
  • Demonstrate effective project and organisational leadership, including effective communication and people management
  • Use appropriate techniques to identify problems and get projects back on track

Flexible Learning Mode
The course will be delivered through Flexible Learning Mode that is advantageous and convenient for type of student – in job person, postgraduate student, or else. Following methods will be applied to deliver the course:
  1. Lecture and Exercise Notes in soft copy (.doc, .xl, .ppt and .jpg files) to be uploaded on google site and accessible to students directly in the site or their respective e-mail inbox
  2. Some notes to be posted in hard copy to each student
  3. e-Dispatches and e-Newsletter
  4. Advises and Discussions in Quick Topic online
  5. Evening Classes in Delhi (1 class of 2-3 hours per week)
  6. Online Guidance for Assignments
  7. Cross-Sharing of Profiles, Achievements, Existing-Knowledge, Experiences, and Strories of all students in a particular Diploma course
  8. Field Workshop (7 days) essential for all students after completion of 4 months of course tenure
  9. Monthly Teleconference
  10. Writing of discussion/research paper by each student during or after Project Work

9 months (6 months course work, 3 months project work)

Minimum graduate in any discipline of science, social science, agriculture, management or allied studies.

Method of Evaluation
The following methods would be applied to assess and evaluate the achievements of the learners:

  • Unit Examination (35%)
  • Project Work (35%)
Certification
After evaluation of the learners’ gained knowledge and skills, the Diploma certificate will be issued in a graduation function.
